Ok, so just what is the best ram out there for stability and overclocking? Kingston, Micron, Crucial??? I have an abit be-6 2 with a p3-700e and i can't get past 854 with it. It has to be the ram, i got cheap at the end when i built this so now i want to get rid of that 128 pc-133 ram and put in 256 of the best ram out there. Its not the heat, i have two case fans, one at the bottom sucking in cold air, and one on top over the processer blowing it out. and i have a golden orb over the p3. So i think it must be the ram. So any recomandations?? Thanks

Hmm...well, if your using a P3, I reccommend RDRAM. RDRAM, or RAMBUS, runs at 800mhz (compared to 133mhz for your current ram). The only problem is that it's ****-numingly expensive ($7-8 per mb). As for the manufacturer, ask someone else (the guy at the local computer store probably knows best).

Rambus is garbage, don't buy that ****. Intel embarrased itself for signing the deal with Rambus. I'm sure you can find lots of info on it in the news archives.

Yeah, i'm not looking to by Rambus or RDRAM. I just want the Best PC-133 SDRAM out there. Since PC-150 hasn't come out yet
Here is a Muskin PC-150 HSDRAM for ya:

thanks for that link. I check that out, so is Muskin a good brand name like Micron, and crucial? Would it be best to go with 2 sticks of the muckin pc-150 for my abit be6 bx chipset?
Mike- yes, Mushkin is very well respected. Corsair is another good brand. Best of luck!

Cool, i think i'm going to go with muskin pc-150 but i know ecc is good for servers, but would it be better to by ecc or is there not much of a difference with error correction on a desktop system?

Mike, if your buying the ram for a desktop computer to run apps and games, then don't buy the ECC ram. The error correcting is really not needed unless you want 99.99% uptime on the machine. Infact, I've heard that the ECC can actually cut performance since it corrects errors.

Before you pay big bucks for memory, check out Memory man's 128 mb pc133 with mosel chips. These sticks use the same Mosel chips as Mushkin's best sticks. http://www.memory-man.com/.
It's $99 a stick now. I bought one for $149 a while back. This stuff is equal to the best memory, and best for overclocking, no matter what the price
Check out the link there to overclocking.com's review of this chip and others, including Mushkin. Memory man has good ratings too http://www.resellerratings.com/vendone.cgi?MemoryMan
