I need a mobo id I tried to use the bios string at motherboards.org but it told me it was invalid the string is 02/03/99-i440bx-<<p2b>>-00 I am trying to get a bios update

I use CTBIOS (http://www.biosworld.com/ctbios/ctbios.exe) to determine motherboard manufacturers. It is a German program but it outputs info in English. It will tell you the name of the OEM Manufacturer and give you the website. It also gives info helpful in determining the model.

"P2B" smells like an old ASUS product name. Go to ASUS web site and see if their P2B resembles what you have.
