Help me find out how fast my CPU really is

I just got an AMD 1600+. I just want to make sure its operating at 1.4ghz.

POST sees it as 1600+
WinXP system says its a 1600+ and 1.39Ghz.

Just wanna be more sure :)

is there any *small* benchmark that will find out a more accurate speed rating?

And, is anyone a member of Beta.net forums? or betaone forums? or something like that? I used to be, but when i formatted after getting new motherboard/cpu/etc, I lost the link to the forums. Anyone :) ?

Sandra will tell you the speed of your proc. Also in your bios it should tell you.

1.39 is only a 10 MHZ different than 1.4. So why worrie? You can't even tell the difference. I over clocked my 1.2 ghz to 1.26 and don't even see a difference.

DirectX gives very little data about the CPU. It will give the approximate CPU speed. I just checked and the CPU I'm using now is running at 1029.98Mhz not 1030 as reported by DirectX. Direct x does not report my system bus, sys clock, multiplier, L 1 l cache, L 1 D cache size, L2 cache size and status nor hundreds of other bits of information about my CPU, such as Standard and Featured Flags supported/unsupproted and much much more, which I admit gets very technical.
WCPUID is invaluable to those who demand precise detailed information about their CPU. A very very high tech piece of hardware.
