Anyone help me.?
Freinds old printer packs up so I advise cheap USB printer. Running win98 not se.
Thing works while I am there and then refuses to work later when I am not. I upgrade to Win Me, get the latest drivers and still the little bugger won't work properly. I take it home and it works fine for me first time.
So I buys it off her and gets her a new xerox with a parallel port. |Takes it up and installls it and it works fine while I am there. Guess what? Just will not work when I am gone. I go back up check bios everthything and cannot get it to work. Totally flummoxed.
Seperately, but maybe connected, I install another usb epson and it fails to work at all. Installation program says cannot connect to printer. I find a file on the cd with all the indiviual files with the exception that the last letter is an underscore, eg printer.in_ , so I copy them all across and rename them to the proper file name, eg printer.inf and then do a manual install pointing to my new directory, bloody thing works.
