Combo will play but not burn

I have a Samsung Combo, it reads cd's, dvd's and games all ok.

The first time i try to burn it comes up with a "power calibration" error after five percent burn.

Next attempt gets "scsi/ide" error again at five percent burn. So I use a third disk on a different machine using a HP CDRW and it burns first time.

I don't want wAaste anymore CDR's.

Anyone got a clue as to whats wrong.

System is PIII 667
512mb SDram
20gb HDD
32mb TNT2 Pro
48x CDrom
12xDVD,16read,4write Samsung Combo.
Win98.

I don't have a remedy for you. But, while you are trying different things to fix your problem, you might want to use CD-RW's since they are reusable and you won't be making a lot of coasters.

Yeh that is a good idea. I have like 200 coasters No kidding. See i never chech if it the right song when i burn and somtimes i get the wrong song or somthing crazy like that. Iam to cheap to buy Cd-rws though. lol
