When I was checking out 'Paul's Unofficial KR7A Site' (www.viahardware.com), it's mentioned that for my board, when installing Win2k Pro:
"KR7A family only: Note that Microsoft recommend you set "PnP OS" to No in the BIOS if using ACPI (Windows Me and 2000)"
Is this truely a recommendation, highly suggested, or in reality is it mandatory? Can anyone explain the relationship and the roles of PNP OS BIOS setting and ACPI?
My guess is that ACPI performs a PNP role and if you have the BIOS doing the same thing then the two will fight...is this basically it?
Thanks much
