Want to install two 256Mb SDRAM on my K7S5A board. Install one on either of the two slots and works fine; fit a second and no (zero) memory available to the PC and not surprisingly it locks up on Windows boot up.
Both memory chips the same spec and both work on their own.
Anyone else had similar problem or can anyone suggest a solution.
Many Thanks

sounds like the memory is not seated properlyin the motherboard. Try pushing it in harder

Umm! I'll try again with a bit more force but I'm not convinced. Thought I read somewhere a while back that there were Bios problems with this board, should I download update and flash it.?

Are you sure you mobo is designed for 256 in each slot? Maybe your mobo isn't upgradeable to 512. Check with you mobo manufacturers web site for details about your board.

Yes it can take the memory upgrate. The same problem occurs when I install to 128s

I'm sure you are using the correct slots for your memory modules since that board supports DDR or PC133 in their respective slots blue for DDR, black for PC133. Alas you must use one or the other. Try clearing the CMOS and rebooting and see if it finds your memory.
