Need some suggetions for a mother board for my 1.7G P4 478pin. Need 4x AGP, at least 3 PCI's and if possible one ISA slots, but the ISA is not that important. And possible of expansion of up to 1G of ram. Preferably 133 but rambus is alright. Also does NOT need on board audio or video. As I already have a PNY Geforce3 Ti200 and a Soundblaster Audigy Platinum. Thanks.

To help you out i would suggest not purchasing a motherboard that supports sdram. Your pentium 4 is capable of a 400 mhz front side bus. Putting in sdram would only allow your front side bus to run at 133. That's like putting a chevy engine into a ferrari. You look like a gamer. If you want performance for your games i would definately go with the rambus. Dont cheat yourself. Run some searches on motherboard reviews. Also run some searches on sdram vs rambus. That will hopefully be enough to convince you. As for the motherboard. I have always bought abit motherboards. They have always have been rock solid and stable. They may cost a bit more, but i think it's worth it. Im also in the process of upgrading my system. I plan on purchasing the TH7IIRaid with a P4 northwind 2.0ghz with 512 cache.:) Waiting for prices to drop!!!!!:D :D
I would suggest the abit TH7II without raid

Hey,
I'm running an Asus P4T board with my P4 and RDRAM. It's rock solid stable.
You may want to consider the DDR SDRAM based boards. Supposedly there is more bang for the buck. But, that's another whole topic, RDRAM vs. DDR SDRAM. Your naked eye won't be able to tell the difference.
Cheers,

Ive got three motherboards in mind, The Asus P4T-E, the Abit AB-TH7-2, and the Abit AB-TH7-2R. But I do not know what would be better, either way I am looking about the same price. Any suggestions.
