Jimstep 01-17-2002, 04:10 PM I bought 512Mb of 133Mhz SDRAM and have been very happy with it. Of course, the price as more than doubled since then. The memory manufacturers must be taking lessons from OPEC by controlling prices. Memory needs to stay cheap. noisedude 01-17-2002, 04:14 PM don't worry, the prices will come back down once the companies are in the black again and can afford another price war. those of us using amd aren't even interested in rdram, especially when it's still expensive too. out of interest though, is anyone planning an rdram chipset for amds? savagkc 01-17-2002, 04:35 PM my system came with RDRAM. I am happy with it. Just went up to 1gig memory. 512meg cost me $356.00 but worth it i think. I'm getting closer to getting XP after some of the dust settles. piyopiyo13 01-17-2002, 05:39 PM Funny... even with this price explosion, DDR RAM is STILL cheaper than RDRAM. And those who say that RDRAM offers superior performance are only partly right. RDRAM offers higher bandwidth, but poorer latency times compared to DDR RAM. Latency time should be weighted more in determining performance, since typically RAM is accessed in sporadic bursts. SysOpt.com
