Can't bloody believe this.

Installed a G3 Ti500 a couple of weeks ago. Removed it and put in an old G2 MX400. Sounds pretty simple don't it????

WRONG

End's up this ******* of a mobo won't recognise the on-board 32mb memory. So i re-install DirectX, the detonator drivers (after destroying the old ones), but am still left with my pants down, pissing in the wind.

So the next logical step is to simply re-install the Mobo drivers. My mobo's made by a firm called Tekram Technology Co. Ltd. I know what your thinking....'never heard of that before'....me too.

I find the web-site but also find out that they've basically only provided support drivers for their recently released mobo's (less than a year old).

So now i'm just stuck, as i've tried to contact them, and just been put off (we'll contact you hahaahhahahhaa).

Anywho, i'm just screwed now.

If anyone can help, then i'd really appreciate it.

Detecting the amount of memory on the graphics card is none of the system BIOSes business ... it's the card's own VGA BIOS that does this. No driver or mainboard BIOS update will help you.

The VGA BIOS usually does a local memory detection and test ... so if the card shows up as having less than 32 megs, it might very well be broken.

Also...
You only need to go to Tekram for a system Bios update. The mobo drivers for IDE and AGP can be updated from the chipset manufacturers website, such as VIA ,SiS,ALi. Take a look in Device Manager and see if you can determine want drivers your using. Then go shopping.;)
