What is a fatal exception? This computer that I'm using is about 2 weeks old and I haven't had any problems with it until now. First let me say that I'm running Windows 98SE. Now for the problem, today I go to shut the computer down and this is what it gives me.

Windows

A fatal exception 0E had occurred at 0028:C0007FCB in VXD VMM(01)+00006FC8. The current application will be terminated.

*Press any key to terminate the current application
*Press CRTL+ALT+DEL again to restart your computer. You will lose any unsaved information in all applications.

Press any key to continue

Where could I learn more about things such as this?

Oh, this is what I have:

Antec case w/300 watt PSU
2 Antec case fans

Gigabyte GA-7VTXH mobo
128MB Micron PC2100 DDR

Sony 1.44 floppy
HP 9510i CD-RW

I don't have the Q# but the title is "What Are Windows Fatal Exception Errors".

You can find this doc at [url]http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx

Type msconfig in run box go to startup tab and disable everything except systray and the 2 loadpowerprofiles see what that does if your problem persists could be something running in the background causing the problem.
