HELP!!
I've been struggling with this for ever. I have a Toshiba satellite pro laptop with 233mhz and 32mgs ram. The problem is that it just wont recognize the floppy drive. I had windows 2000 loaded for a while, changed to 95 and now it had Me, but it still not working. I can get into the BIOS, but CANNOT enable floppy, it is currently disabled. The cursor just skips that choice, so I can't change it to enable. please help.... :(

Try re-setting the BIOS to default.

have you tried removing the drivers and rebooting?? or maybe try getting some updated drivers from the Toshiba website.

Internal floppy drives do not require any separate real-mode driver under Wndows or DOS.

Since it does not get detected under three different OS's, its power or data cable connection may be loose, or the drive itself may have some mechanical or electrical fault.

Just a real shot in the dark -- Is there any type of virus protection feature in the BIOS setup program? That might possibly also disable and/or prevent the drive from being detected as a safety measure, so a virus-infected diskette would not be read accidently.

I forgot to mention that this toshiba laptop model does not have an integrated floppy, but instead uses an external one. The floppy drive itself works because I tested it with another toshiba laptop. I should also mention that under system/performance there is a note stating that "Drive A is using MS-DOS compatibility mode file system"
