I hesitate to buy products like that. Can someone help?

I wonder if they work similar to a floppy disk cleaning diskette. In a floppy disk, the diskette and the read/write head touches. Therefore it cleans the head.

Can someone tell me whether a Lens Cleaner CD will make itselfs so thick that it touches the CD lens? If so, I am afraid the latter may get damaged easily. Can I worrying too much?

How about CD disk cleaner? The product advertises that it is a cleaning fluid we can spray on CD. How does it compare with using a clean cloth to wipe a CD?

Thanks for comments from all experienced people, in advance.

You only need to clean the lens if your having a problem with the drive otherwise buying a can of air will help once in awhile, if you are having problems then as a last resort you can try the cleaning kits.

Usually I just clean a cd with cloth and water wiping away from the center rather than around on the cd, if this helps.

All CD Lens Cleaners come with set of tiny brushes which whisk the debris away during a "cleaning cycle" programmed on the CD cleaner disk. Some have several sets of brushes, others have two sets. Some are wet/dry and others are dry only. I use the DISCLEANER brand of lens cleaner and it works very well.

I have one and it works really good. You can look at the disc when its done and see the dust that got on it from the brushes. I couldn't believe some much dust collected on my cd player.

The bad thing is that it takes about 30 minutes to clean
