I just finished building a new pc with the KT7-RAID, PC133 (@cas2) and an AMD Duron 600, running Windows Me. While it is still a 'bare' system, I want to record a watermark in terms of performance. What software is out there to:

1. stress test the machine
2. test and report it's performance in terms of where it should be for it's class
3. memory performance
4. hardrive I/O performance
5. etc...

Is there a utility that is commonly used and accepted as the 'standard' for these tests?

Also, is there a better monitoring tool for windows that reports on CPU usage accurately?

Thanks Much.

Just a few Benchmarks I use:

Prime95 or Seti@home to stress test.

3Dmark2000 & Quake3 timedemo for general performance.

SiSoft Sandra for memory bandwidth.

HD tach for hardrive performance.

I havent got the links at hand but if you cant find them on google etc post & I will dig them out.

Hope this helps
