I got a trojan remover today and it found 89 viruses (most of them were sub7 renamed). Just thought tht was a little odd

lol@Gomer, I should be more carefull. I cant remember were i got the program from, i'll see if i can find out later.

Alondra, sub7 is a RAT (remote access tool or somthing) which opens up a port (6667) and allows people to enter throught your computer. It's not fun, people can shut down your computer and pretty much anything else. Im sure your safe from it.

Alondra....
Sub7 is an interesting critter. It allows complete remote access of your system. When I say complete, I mean complete! They can open your cd drive, type through your printer, change your screen colors, log your keyboard etc. My family's computer was hit with it thanks to my little brother. Our passwords were stolen, an online game account was cleaned out, and finally, our registry was deleted.

If you are running virus scan and/or a firewall you should be fine. Viri are like VD's. They tend to hang out around houses of ill repute. I don't think you have anything to worry about Alondra.

Some trojan detectors I've used:

The Cleaner: www.moosoft.com (http://www.moosoft.com)

Tauscan: http://www.agnitum.com/products/tauscan/

TDS-3: http://tds.diamondcs.com.au/

I still use The Cleaner.

Do you have file and print sharing protocols installed? A netBIOS probe can allow someone to gain access to you computer if you are set up this way without some sort of firewall protection.
