I am having a rough time connecting to sysopt as of late. I noticed it at school earlier today and at homes this evening. I won't load and when it does, I can only jump around for about ten minutes. Anyone else experiencing this?

Sorry for the problems as of late. You problems have been noted and passed along.

I'm sure they will be working on them and have us back ASAP

I couldn't get here at all, it would say "loading page", then say "page not found"

Joel has just sent a message regarding the connectivity issues to EarthWeb. Hopefully we will have a response shortly, so that this issue can be fixed in a timely manner.

Thank You,
Robert Richmond

Thank god I just got on now! I was secounds away from formating my computer and doing a clean install! I haven't been able to get on at all. I have been going through every option in IE and zone alarm for days!! Glad to see at least others are having the problems also, I can't believe my beloved sysopt goes down!

Sysopt should warn us before they go down!!

aND I thought it was just me http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

On Monday the 13th, I almost never got into sysopt.

Several tries failed,, oddly another page I frequent failed numerous times too, so I thought it was my cookies messing with my pewter. So I dumped them,, naaaaa, no good..

Well ,, the connection folks have surely heard a earful from the old Wise Ones by now.

I'm glad I'm not on the receiving end of that phone call http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Last night (13th) was the worst I've ever seen here. Couldn't get in for an hour at a time, then when I did, couldn't STAY in.
But it was obvious everyone was having problems judging by the times between posts.

Tonight, logged on right away. Made it to this topic & that was it for awhile. Finally got the "reply" screen to open, but no idea if it'll actually POST!!

Anyway, I didn't bother the admins with email & I hope everyone else leaves them alone, too. Let their time be spent dealing with the problem rather than dealing with US!!

shows the advantage of even a minimal backup box. you can see if some thing is wrong with the main one be fore you tear into it. also can come here for help if it does have a problem. Ive done that. more than once.

Repair Internet Explorer 5.5 and Internet Tools. System File Checker. Got real wierd, cryptic messages on Altavista.com also. Then I noticed I had no problems with OCWorkbench.com and realized, "It's a server problem here in USA." Sorry to have bothered you Robert.

How do you think I felt after fighting with ICQ all weekend and then when I finally feel I have my system back in order I can't get on SysOpt! I went to bed after getting off one reply. Woke up and found it was all a bad dream.

Cheers!

Whenever I had probs, I did a visualroute lookup for sysopt, and it showed problems with Globix corp in New york. It went through several hops at globix before getting to sysopt and it said that packets were being dumped at net hop whatever.
Visualroute has a utility to find out if the entire network is down or just one machine, but it said to be VERY careful when using it because some sites might think you are trying to hack them. I don't want to get in trouble here, so I didn't use that feature. I really like this utility for checking where I run into connectivity problems, saves me from blaming my poor old machine unjustly...Mp
