I have webpages on free sites like Tripod/Geo
and freservers.com.
But I need to find a host for a friend that I am helping to do a web with.
I know FrontPage comes with some provider
recommendations, but I was wondering if anybody can recommend one.
This will be a basic type account for starters.
Thanks
Robert

I'm using register.com's free URL forwarding but it uses frames. I've setup a shortcut icon to be placed on your system if you add it to your favorites or create a shortcut on your desktop. (just like fav icon)
If you enter my site by addressing beemerworld.com or tips.beemerworld.com the frames that the URL forwarding uses suppresses the banners and the nice little icon. If you access the page by my geocities address you get it all.

Does anyone know of a company that URL forwards without frames?
Thanks & Cheers!
http://www.v3.com gives you a choice. You can have frames, a delayed page, or a pop-up window displaying their banner.
I personally use namezero and took care of their banner with javascript.

Are there any good free places WITHOUT banners or pop-ups, but which support CGI/PERL?
Thats what I really need to host the Forum for my website http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

An interactive web site using or needing cgi capabilities will be making money. Anyone hosting these services knows this and will bill you accordingly.

For versatility and a unix environment, I use www.prowebsites.com. (http://www.prowebsites.com.) Speed is not their strongpoint. I also use www.aahosting.com. (http://www.aahosting.com.) Also unix, very good people to do business with. TONS of hosting packages!
