I am having problems with sudden, nasty lockups with my recent custom built system.

ex. I'm programming, typing, or surfing the net when everything just locks up and nothing but a physical reset works (not even multiple ctrl-alt-del's)

A little research leads me to believe that it is an IRQ conflict problem, especially since the NIC, Sound and Video Card all share the same IRQ (11).

I have two free IRQ's (3 & 4), but I can't change any of the IRQ settings.

Soyo K7V Dragon
AMD T-Bird 1.4 Ghz
256MB Crucial DDR PC2100
WinFast Titanium 64MB DDR Video Card
Plextor 8/4/32 CDRW
WD 15.3 ATA/66 7200 RPM
Win98SE

Is there any BIOS tweaking I should or can do?
Is there a way to manually change IRQ's so that there are no conflicts?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have ran into that with 98..usully the problem can be resolved by formating and reinstalling win..
but the better thought would be(in my opinion;) )would be to get XP..it rocks and I no loger have any IRQ probs
