Dudes, I bought an Audigy X Gamer card and installed it in my KR7A mobo. All the drivers loaded great, I even installed the newest 4 in 1 Via drivers. My OS is Win XP proffessional. Yes, I installed the Creative Win XP patch, but to no avail, I am way hosed. There is absolutely no sound coming out of my speakers. This is my rig:
Athlon XP1900 @ 1748 mhz
Abit KR7A mobo
256 meg Kingmax DDR 333
40 gig Maxtor
GeForce 3 Visiontek
Audigy X Lamer
Win XP Proffessional
Does anybody have any info that will help?
Thanks, Krag:confused:
Whats up krag81,
I have the Audigy platinum EX on my system and had a problem as well. I actually thought it was bad and returned it for a new one. After I wasted my time doing that, I found out that Win XP gives you a big problem if you install more than just the audigy drivers initially. (My install cd had a few extra install options, I'm not sure about the X-"Lamer") Try installing just the Audigy driver, restart (by this time you should have sound), run the XP update, and you should be good to go. If you want any of the other stuff that's on the CD, Install them After everything else.
Again I'm not sure about the X-Gamer. *NOTE: MAKE SURE THAT YOU COMPLETELY REMOVE ANY DRIVERS AND SOFTWARE THAT YOU HAVE INSTALLED FROM THE INSTALLATION CD (I actually ended up formatting to be safe). It worked for me, and my system is also very similar to yours:
Athlon XP1900 @ 1600 mhz
Abit KG7-RAID mobo
512 meg OCZ Tech DDR 333
2x60 gig IBM Deskstars
GeForce 3 TDH Leadtek
Audigy Platinum EX
Win XP Proffessional & Win 2000 Pro (dual boot)
Let me know how you make out.

Yeah Bro that was totaly it. I loaded just the Audigy drivers, now I have sound!!!!!!!!! However, I have some bogus static, not too load but just enough to irritate me. It almost sounds like it my case fans are causing the extra static. I have a 450 see-thru Frozen CPU case with 2 80mm and 2 120mm fans. Any suggestions? Thanks, a very GRATEFULL KRAG!:D
