Why is it, that no one ever mentions VCM RAM in this forum.

How many of you guys have VCM 133 in your machines.

What are your experiences?

Is it faster or what ?

From what I have read, its only supported on one chipset though, which really limits its useage, and is probably why you don't see it mentioned on this BBS a lot.

Check out this article for more info.

I believe it works on 2 chipsets on each side of the CPU industry - the Via 133, Via 133A for Intel chipsets, and the Via KX133 and Via KT133 for the Athlon side.

The KT133 and the Via 133a are among the most recommended chipsets out there, so I dont see why VCM-RAM isnt more talked about.
Problem is, I believe, that Intel doesnt support it. This leads many companys to not sell it, leading to small compition, which results in high prices.
Its difficult to find some of this stuff at a decent price, but if you do, Id say go for it.

According to what I've read, VCM RAM (Virtual Channel Memory) is 4-5% faster than standard SDRAM. I'd say if you could get some for the same price and if it was CAS-2, go for it if your running an Athlon system.
