This is mostly a PC site but I just want to get people opinion on the new iMac: http://www.apple.com/ (first image you see)
Personally I think it looks pathetic and probably break in like um... two weeks, maybe a month. On the otherhand you could use the screensaver as a lamp, hehe, spify!
What you think?

i'd take one if they were giving them away free.
Does it still have the cute flashing white LED from the original iMac ?
I found myself staring at this LED once for a good 5 minutes.

I wouldn't buy any computer that didn't have a fan. This covers a lot of Macs... hmmm I wonder why so many more people buy PCs?

I'd love an IMac!! I'v been using PCs my whole life. I'v never actually used a mac very intensively but I would like to. Not only are the new IMacs probably one of the coolest looking PCs around, but they are powerful too! 800MHz G4, DVD-RW, GeForce 2MX, c'mon!! This thing hauls, it would probably blow away my 1.5gig TBird. I'd slap linux on it with X windows and away I go. :)

I'm a PC user through and through, always have been (probably) always will be, but...........
****, don't you think it's cute? my g/f loves it. whre have PC's gone in the last 10 years? sure they got faster, but they also got a helluva lot noisier and bigger with it. you'll say yeah, so i'll go out and buy a super quiet PSU and CPU fan with a huge heatsink, I'll overclock it to x.xGhz and spend anything up to $5000 doing it.
you could have basically the same thing with a different OS and apps for under $1800 for the top of the range model.
I've never been an apple fan for quite a few reasons, infact i only ever used one once for about 2 hours and it was OK but thats about it. I would really like to psend a little time on this though to see if it does what they say.
maybe get one for my g/f and mess with it a little myself.
just my 2 cents.

Why not put your PC's idle time to good use by downloading the seti@home client HERE (http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/windows.html) and then joining the Sysopt.com Users 2002 Team HERE (http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/cgi?cmd=team_lookup&name=Sysopt.com+Users+2002)
