I have a Dell Dimensions MMX 200 and I would like to upgrade to another motherboard and CPU. I would like to use the case of my present Dell system, but I have been told that the power supply that is in a Dell system is not compatible with other mobo's (something about having an extra connector). Has anyone in the group used a Dell case to upgrade to another mobo. If the power supply does have an extra connector, is it possible to get another power supply that would work with an Asus mobo and fit in a Dell case?

I would Just buy a new Power supply but I would take a look at the connecter before I would shell out any cash Make sure you get the right power supply for that mobo cuz theres an AT type power supply which has 2 connectors and an ATX power connecter that has just 1 connector.
hope ths helps.... somehow

Dell used to make proprety cases and mobos so you couldn't just swap out the mobo with another generic one you had to buy dell. Not sure exactly now but your PC is pretty old so i'd say your chances of using the case and power supply again would be slim. i'd got for a new case can be picked up reasonable cheap.
