Did you install new software, or is your CD program recognizing the drive??

With EZ-CD, you have to direct it to the drive if a change is made. (Tools/Recorder Properties) Otherwise it's still looking for the previous drive.

Yeah I installed new software. But thwe thing is that the software that comes with the CD-R drive is only software. I mean there are no disks that say that they are the divers for the CD-R drive. So im not sure about the drivers.

with my other CD-R Drive i installed the drivers to make that drive work but with this one there are no drivers, no install program for the drive, only the adaptec software and some other realplayer, musicmatch jukebox ****.

Do you know if it should have come with the drivers or if it installs by itself?

thanks a lot

Well, I don't have that particular drive, but my Sony did not have any special drivers, and Windows found it correctly. But Adaptec's EZ-CD software did not, had to set it up manually.

Is it identified correctly in Device Manager?
Mine reads "Sony CDR CDU928E", which is the correct model #
Maybe a run though "add new hardware" will fix it.

Yamaha'a site doesn't seem to provide any special drivers for it, but they do show "free bonus software" for it. Appears to be an audio CD copy program.

I was wondering if anyone has had problems with he Yamaha CDRW2100EZ drive (16X 10X 40X).
Does anyone have this drive and if so how did you install it?
because i installed mine and it doesn't seem to recognize my blank CD-R or CD-RW CD's.

and i cant write at all. it works as a regular CD-ROM but thats it.

Do you know if i have to have some special CD's to record with it. I have 12X compatible blank CD's but those dont work, they do work in my other CD-R drive (HP 8210i), but not in this one.

well if anyone has any suggestions or anything I would really appreciate it.

thanks a lot!
