You can actually delete this file now that you are back in windows. OuTpaTienT 11-11-2000, 04:29 PM That is data that has been recovered from doing a Scandisk. 99.9999999% of the time, you just want to delete it. socalgal 11-11-2000, 04:32 PM Hi e.q.rights That is the error file created after running Scandisk, if Scandisk finds errors (cross-linked files, for example). Some files contain -0- bytes, or no data, so it's usually safe to delete these. The ones that contain data, you can try read with Notepad or QuickViewPlus. They will probably be in ASCII text. Unless you know you need the bits and pieces of text you can read, they are safe to delete. OuTpaTienT 11-11-2000, 04:41 PM lol. Boy, are we eager to help this guy or what? Hope we didn't scare him. A moderator, an administrator, and a wizard all jump on his question. Believe or not eq.rights, there are members here too. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gifuT Imperion1 11-11-2000, 04:53 PM Yes, believe, we do exist. In what state of mind? Don't know. To each his own. But yea, you can delete it. Definitely make sure that its a zero byte file first. Made the mistake of not checking once, couldn't get past my logo screen. Not sure what cross link file I deleted. But under scandisk just have the crosslink file checked off as ignore. We are among you.
