WAY more then id spend...(just thru shopping different) but a killer system that anyone would be proud to say "I got the best components at the price I feel fit my budget without flipping out trying to get the best deal on EVERYTHING"...great system most of us would welcome...
(Paying 160$ to Atomic for W98se is an especial giant kick in the nuts to the budget, but yer callin the shots)

What are your plans for this fantastic system???

Components selected in this fashion could be highly unstable and require extensive tweaking in order to perform at peak. But, hey, your a regular here and we like you...so....tell you what...just finish the build and then ship the box...[freight prepaid of course] to me and for a very reasonable fee I would be more than happy to
completely evaluate the machine for Oh...say....6months to a year-[can't do a rush job on this you know] and issue you a detailed report on the performance.
Of course-just oone opinion is never enough so when I finish I could just ship the box over to Techjumper for a second opinion....

Idunno steves1728,

I reckon we better make sure that 300w PS runs OK on Australian 230V - better send it down here first. I promise I'll get it back to you in no time at all http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Hey guys!! Glad you'll like my system. I got a little bad news though.... After I give this computer a good evaluation (6 months probley), I will have to turn it over to my dad and transform it to be running windows 2000 server (or advanced server) for his small network at his business. The good thing is that after that goes through I get to build another system for me to keep(I mights have to limit down to 256meg and 72gig, since it's just for home). But that will be good because by then I can get an even faster processor (Dual Amd w/ DDR sounds REAL NICE).

Thanks for the offer steves and yankinoz but I think I am pretty good at evaluating ... By the way yankinoz thats a 400watt power supply.

P.S. Anybody ever set up this mobo with a couple raid HDs? How do I do it? I think I read somthing about using norton ghost or somthing.. And also, AtomicPark.com sent me an e-mail and said my order didn't go through, so if you'll know where I can find a good price on windows 98 full edition, that would be great (That price did kick my in the nuts pretty hard).

Must sorta suck that theirs 256meg DIMMS to be had for $96 right now, but with that kinda money, guess $100 here or there doesnt matter

Yea I've seen those great prices on ram, bargin bin ram. I've spoke with plenty of people about this issue and they seem to believe that "cheap" ram does not work well. That type of ram seems to make a system wery un-stable. I decided to spend a little more cash so that I don't have to worry about having to throwing a buch of cheap ram in the can and have to go out and spend more money buying good ram.

DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHERE I CAN GET A GOOD PRICE ON WINDOWS 98?
