I just purchased a new Gainward 6IBA Motherboard and ATX Tower (300 Watt PS) to build a P-II system for a friend. I got all of my drives and the video card installed and when I turned on the system, all I get is a blinking power light. There is no fan activity from either the power supply or the CPU fan. I tried playing with the jumpers, but that didn't help. I ultimately removed everything from the board except the ATX power supply connector and my Power Light for the case. I still get nothing. My guess at this point is that it's either the Motherboard or the Power Supply, but I was wondering if anybody has a suggestion before I run off and spend more money on this "project". Thanks in advance.

What color/s is/are blinking?
Solid green = normal video on
Solid amber = no video signal/bad monitor
Blinking green/amber = video off (power save mode)

I guess I wasn't very clear. It's not the power light on the monitor - it's the power light on the system case.
Your system might be "stuck" in "Standby" mode. Try clearing your CMOS with appropriate jumper or by removing the CMOS battery for few hours.

I installed the board into another ATX case, and I initially had the same problem - blinking power light. However, on this other case, when I pressed the power button the system powered up. I'm guessing that the other case has a bad power switch.
