Has anyone tried this latest version?
And if so did you also use the latest nvidia drivers (7.17) for DX8.

If so let me know what results you had.

I will give you my opinion on this.. since the download comes with this statement.....
"After installation, the DirectX 8.0 run time cannot be uninstalled. The installation process changes core components and makes numerous registry changes within your operating system. Microsoft does not support uninstallation."
I will give it some time to saturate the populace before I do any installation.

exactly what I'm doing RenaissanceMan I'll wait. plus when i see if there is any new updates for windows i don't see direct 8 x listed. im quite happy with direct 7

i'm running dx8 here and havent found any problems with it, but yeh for anybody who knows my system not like it would really make alot of difference with performance (PI 133, 64MB, 2gig etc... in a word, CRAPPY).
