I am planning to assemble a new computer. I am looking for information on cases. Seems to me I recall seeing some computers with "jack" on the front of the computer for such as earphones, microphones, audio input, etc. Can anyone help me here. Are there such things or is it some sort of modification done to the front panel using a cutout of some sort? Can't seem to find any cases for sale at various suppliers with such a thing on the front. Thanks for any input.=">

chuckmex, I've seen the adapter you're talking about on ebay, they fit a 5 1/4 inch drive slot. I took a quick look, but thet changed the computer hardware section again! I look some more and let you know if I see them.

Sound Blaster Live Drive (I&II, methinks)

I think you are referring to the Sound Blaster Live Platinum Rack that slides into your 5 1/4" external bay. That is something that you need to buy with the Sound Card, not a part of the case.
I'm pretty sure this is what you're talking about:

Unless you do alot of audio recording and need easy access to the mic input, speaker input, SPDIF input, MIDI input, etc..... You will have pay alot extra to get the Sound Blaster Live Platinum which comes with the external audio rack. But if you don't really need that feature, I'd say to go for the Sound Blaster Live Value. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
