I was brousing through allelectronics today and realized that they have solar pannels. One that they have is a 9v panel putting out somewhat small amounts of wattage. It is small enought that I could fit 2 on the back of my laptop. They are designed to tricle charge batteries. Could I use 2 of these to recharge my battery as I am using the laptop and therefore dramaticly lengthen battery life, or even run it right off the solar cells?

Sorry, dont think it will do either, not enough current, to run the laptop, not enought to chrge the batteries significantly while in use.
May be usefull to trickle chrge them a bit when not in use (on a sunny window cill)

You can use them to trickle charge the batteries,, I'd check the initial voltage of your battery charger before being hooked to the batteries and after.
If the solar cells do not put out any more voltage than the batteries run at , NO charging will take place.
I'd experiment with some other ni-cads before placing my expensive laptop batteries at risk..
www.harborfreight.com (http://www.harborfreight.com) has some 12v solar cells sometimes as cheap as $10.00
A guess would be a 12v solar cell to charge a 9.6 or 7.2 volt battery pack.
if you have a 12v battery pack, you can series the solar cells to double the voltage while the amps will be the same..
