I have a little project going on right now... basically, I'm building a game computer out of some spare parts that will run only ROMs (SNES, NES, Genesis, Neo Geo, Bleem, etc.)... Now, I remember back in the day that one could buy a joystick cable splitter, but those days seem long gone. Has anyone plugged in two USB joysticks/joypads? Do they work? I would assume that they do, but I'd like to know ahead of time before I do this. Thanks!

I have two joysticks, one mouse and a trackball all in operation at the same time. Using usb ports for the second devices.
I have never tried to run a two player game with two seperate joysticks. I have it setup so you can pick your joystick depending on the game you are using.
That makes me wonder!!!!

Way back when only 2-axis joysticks were available for an affordable price, I had rigged up one of my computers to use two joysticks independently. A simple "Y" type cable splitter only allows you to use one stick at a time, so what I got was a two port game card. This allowed me to use one stick for pitch and roll control, and the other for rudder and throttle in flight simulators. Worked very well, but I don't know if they're still available or not. I would think plugging in two sticks to your USB ports will only allow them to work individually......maybe there is software available nowadays to take the place of a game card.

I've only tried with these two games, but 2 usb joystics work with superbike 2000 in split screen mode, and fifa 2000 works as well.

Cool, thanks for the info all. Hey seti, could you do me a favor? Could you go to www.thegamer.net (http://www.thegamer.net) and try using two joysticks with an emulator? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks again.
Sorry, I was out of town...which emulator? It looks like they have a few up there.

Just the SNES will be fine. The one that is designed for Windows 95/98 is pretty good. I really appreciate it Seti! Thanks!
I don't know Szech...I tried one game (nba jam) and the Sidewinder precision pro was handling the axis movements, and the wingman force 3d was doing the button work. Perhaps I wasn't configuring the joypad preferences within the emulator correctly, (this is the first time I've ever been near one}, but I don't know what else I could of done.

Hmmm... nuts. Thanks a lot though, Seti. Looks like I'm going to have to find a dual joystick card.

I have set up an Interact Mako pad attached to my joystick port on my sound card a wingman extreme attached to usb, so far I've been able to use both joysticks under bleem!, Nesticle95, snes9x, and NeoRage. I've yet to manage to get a usb joystick to work in an emulator that has to drop directly to dos such as Kgen, massage, or pce.

Hunh... I didn't think about that one. I'll try to borrow a friend's joystick and plug it in the sound card. Thanks darkclaw.

Gravis pads plug into each other on the gameport (up to 4). I haven't tried in a while, but, DOS emulators freaked out with 2 pads hooked up. I was trying to get them to work in MAME for Robotron.
