I own an ASUS K7M w/ AMD600 and it runs a 3DProphet SE and I have had this pc for nearly two years and have had off and on problems w/ it crashing and video lockup on games but not all games.
games like simcity3000 and Empire Earth lock up but the real athletic games like Max Payne and age of empiresworks fine ?
This is really starting to **** me off something fierce
I cannot for the life of me figure out what is wrong with it.
Last night I used sisoft sandra to benchmark it and find out what is up with it. I found that the video bios were old and needed flashing. So I downloaded the flash for my card and when i flashed the program told me that I had no guillemot card...
well thats not true 'cause that is what it is....so:confused:
what my question is: should I use a sharp screwdriver or a blunt hammer to my video card or is the problem ny K7M mobo and a good thrashing to that?
honestly folks do i need a new mobo or a new video card ?
this problem needs to be adressed before I go postal on the whole system!

Have you tried the latest drivers for it if any? You can go into bios and raise the aperture size go higher or low til something starts working also play around with the settings in display properties/settings advanced button try different settings you may find that will help.
