Ahhhh, looks like time for root cause analysis.....

I would state the best way to get any smell out of any room is to NEVER introduce the room to the smell. But, I think you've learned that.

Burn some candles or incense or hair or human flesh or some plastic....

Being a Painting Contractor Ive killed many a brain cells, but dont worry about that you have plenty of them. Open the windows or somthing, the smell will go away after a while. Should have done it outside.

The best way to get any smell out of a room is set a 1/2 cup of vinegar in the room with the window(S) open. Also, put the case outside (protected) or in the garage for 2-3 days, the smell will go away.

Yeah, those headaches are from the paint fumes..... nothing like almost getting high.... The smell will be there while the paint finishes curing, prolly keep excreting the smell for a few days. Next time, paint the object and then leave it out in the sun a couple days, then bring it inside (of course, protect it from rain, snow etc...
