pc partially boots after a few hours

hi folks, i am new to this thing,but i need some help.
my pc has an AMD 400 mhz cpu and the motherboard is matsonic.
we changed batteries and after that it will only boot after a coulpe of hours once and then the next time the reset light stays on all the time, no sound, no video, no nothing
i checked the power,good video card good removed other cards still nothing....why do you think it would boot only once after a couple hours?

Also put the mainboard into consideration as the culprit of this problem. I've had a case similar to yours where the system wouldn't power on sometimes and sometimes wouldn't. I tried swapping just about every component on the system and later found out that the mainboard was the cause of the problem...

DO YOU THINK THE C.P.U COULD CAUSE MY PROBLEM ABOVE?
