low level White noise From Speakers

I have a Sound Blaster16PCI sound card and whilst in a quiesent state there issome very annoying interference type noise. the sound card works okay but its driving me mad any ideas please :mad:

Bring up your audio properties (double click speaker in SysTray) and mute the Mic and Aux inputs. Fixed my similar problem... (to get these, make sure to check "Advanced" under "Options" and that all the controls are checked under "Options...Properties")

Take a look inside your PC and check the sound card isn't next door to the video card, this can often cause white noise as the card picks up interference from the video card.
