Actually I have to use verbatim in my car cd player. It won't read anything else that I've tried.
Try outpost.com search for imation cdr they are 20 for $20 with a $20 rebate. Free shipping. Give them a try.

All CD-R's work in my CD players. The only ones that don't work are CD-RW's. I've used the super cheap ones(Gigastorage and Cursor) and they work just as well as the Verbatim, Kodak and other CD-R's. It's probably your burner or your software that's messing up. I use MP3 CD Maker, Adaptec EZ CD Creator and Nero and every music CD I've compiled is working. My friend's HP burner doesn't burn anything well, except data backups.

mmhh yeah it might be my burner itself.
mentioning not working, the IDE cable that came with it didn't really work when i used it.

the clicks and jitters are either the quality of mp3 or your rom.if it happens with evey different mp3 you burn it's probably your burner..as for disks i use Maxell or Basf and they work great!stay away from sonys they suck. u must have bought a new IDE cable for your burner to work?

I have a friend that burns a lot of audio cd's. He said that if you convert mp3's into wav's on the fly while burning it writes in all the cracks and hissing. Convert mp3's into wav's prior to burning, then write the cd-r. This is not a cd-r quality issue.

mmhh i think now my problem is the way i rip the songs from cd's
i've notice that mp3s i got net and burnt into the cd's do not have the problem of jitters and scratchy noises!!

Kodak Digitals,TDKs,certain Sonys...CD-Rs are good for burning mp3s--but are usually more expensive(about $2 per disc)...I've heard it depends on the "dyes" used--check the backside of the blank CD-Rs..."dark blue or dark blue/green" suppose to be better(better reflection = better read)....and when burning mp3s--speed to burn should be 1x--4x(max)...because of better accurate "burn tracking"-- read that higher burn rates increases "errors"....And always defrag your drive before burning.... Hope this helps.....
