Hey guys just curious if anyone knows a good resource on the web for a guide to servers and config for them.

Depends on what OS you'd like to run. Personally I'd take a look into Linux as it uses Apache (http://www.apache.org) which is a well known and a very good web server program. It also comes with programs to setup your own mail server, dns server, proxy server, firewall, etc. Linux would be a better choice over an M$ product and its a lot cheaper too. :)
