Hello. (Still fairly new to this service, but appreciate being here.)

Any help or ideas would be appreciated on this. I'm needing to migrate just files and directories from a netware box to the Win2K domain controller. The white paper available by MS seems contraditing in that it states you can migrate by having GSNW installed but when it states the requirements for installing MSDSS (which is part of the "Services for Netware v. 5") you need to install Netware Client 32 on the server.

I really don't want to do that last bit. (nasty stuff) Does anyone with experience in this know if its necessary to install the Netware Client 32 prior to installing MSDSS so I can use the File Migration Utility to copy the netware files with the proper permissions kept?

Thanks in advance.
Rich

I don't know if it's totally necessary but I can tell you it will go a lot smoother if you do.

I have been on a couple of NT rollouts and both times Client 32 was installed first to smooth the migration process. I was told by some very experienced engineers (this was at the start of my career and the only times I ever encountered Netware) at the time that it would make the job a whole lot easier.

I know its not much help, but it's all the help you seem to have got on this one. I guess netware is a dying animal.
