How do I stop new windows from opening?

When I go to some game sites, four more **** windows will open, and when I close them, two more pop up. How do I stop this from happening? It's really annoying the hell out of me. Thanks.

You can do a quick and dirty by going to internet settings and disable java scripting,but alot of website content won't work when you do this. I think there are several programs out that can disable the pop up windows without knocking out all of the good stuff on the page. I cant think of the names right now but I'm sure someone here knows what they are called/where you can get them. Mp

Stay away from game sites!

I suggest switching to porn, none of those sites EVER have pop-up ads.

Turning off JavaScripting will cut down on large majority of the pop-ups. Turning it off will also 'break' your browser at an awful lot of sites. Hard to find sites that don't use scripting ( www.ups.com (http://www.ups.com) is one...

i have used two programs to stop popups,one is called POPOFF..its freeware you'll have to do a search.it works ok for the most part on low..on high it will stop evrything even user activated popups that you want.another is called ads off,which you can customize its shareware.but it can stop gif's after one cycle.but they are must haves for cruising those pesky gaming sites..

Szech, the popups are from javascript in the game sites code yes,there annoying as hell..but i've used a proggy called "popupkiller" that seemed to work ok. do a search in google.com 4 it
