I emailed this message to rjwilke, as I was not able to post it on the forum at the time. So here it is. ‘I noticed your message (which was not replied to, today) at http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/009426.html. Your message (11-02-2000 07:13 AM) was as follows, “I thought I saw an article on sysopt about what every PC tech should have in their service kit (esp. software, antivirus etc.) The problem is that I cannot find the article. Anyone know where the article is?” Well, you will find everything you are after and more at http://www.windrivers.com/tech/tips/index.htm (Go to Tech Essentials and 'View The List'). The actual site address to get there is http://www.windrivers.com/tech/tips/techsoft.htm for future reference. As quoted on Windrivers.com 'You're a tech and don't know what software can make your job a lot easier. Find out the software that every tech needs!’ I have spent some hours sorting out what I need. There are excellent links that take you outside of Windrivers.com. In the end the amount of information available can seem overwhelming if you are on a learning curve but persevere and you will arrive at software, and the like, that will be essential for you and your computer's survival in particular, but also may be beneficial for helping friends who may perceive you as their computer guru. I hope this is what you are looking for. All the best, G.
