For all you strategy game fans out there I strongly recommend Empire Earth. Never has there been a game so complex. This game spans from the days of AOE all the way to the C&C days. Starting in the Prehistoric age ending in the Nano age, a guarateed minimum of 4 hours is there. The environments are exceptionally detailed and explosions are great. I felt like god commanding my army of cyborgs and machine gunners around to destroy my foe, and then when I dropped the first nuke, thats when I really fell in love with it. There is nothing better than flying 10 b-29 bombers over a town and demolsihing half of it. This game kept me busy for 9 hours straight for 1 round and it never got boring. There is so many different technologies and units... Its hard to see everything in just one game. I think the coolest part about it though is the civilization creator... the idea of creating your civilization in a strategy game is great. Also its great to lan with your friends.. we had 8 people going all out at it and I ended up getting whomped... but it is still an awesome game. Everyone should go out and try the demo or buy it.
I give this game 5 stars, its everything a strategy game player could want.

Is it those 3D environment types? Or those AOE types?

It is aoe type, and has great looking graphics, a cool feature allows you to zoom in, but that doesnt have to be used, but when playing the game its a lot like aoe with upgraded graphics

I have to disagree that Empire Earth is a great strategy game. It's basically Age of Empires with a fancy 3d engine. It uses the same concepts of resource gathering and unit building. So in effect there is nothing really new. It's a good game, but not great. I'd give it 3.5/5.
Thanks

Age of empires does not go past the imperial age (aoe2). While Empire Earth goes all the way to the Nano age, there are tons of new units, and buildings, you could not drop nukes in age of empires, nor could you drive a submarine around or even a tank. The game is much more complex than age of empires, its much more difficult to gather resources since only 6 civilians are aloud at each mine. There is a lot that differs from the 2 games and if you want a basic strategy game get AOE but if you want Complexity get Empire Earth.

I agree with hood in some ways, Empire Earth is a very complex stragity game, but its really long, Dont get me wrong not a second of the game is boring, its just when you start at noon, and dont get done playing your first game untill midnight, it seems you wayste the day away.. or maby thats just me...

Civ 2 is turn based strategy, I'll agree that is a good game, but Empire Earth still dominates the Real Time Strategy

Empire Earth is a great game, I got it. Played it all day.
The Campaign part gets boring after a while but that Random Game is the best, will keep you thinking.

Empire Earth is OK. It's really engrossing if you treat it right, and **** hard to beat. It doesn't come up with anything really new, though, besides going from Prehistoric to Nano Age. I give it a B.

I like it play it often. But one huge think that upsets me in ganes like this and Civ 3 is that their are ages like nano. After present. I hate futer stuff. Never liked the units. Prefer to play with moder age stuff. Good game though

Quick question.
On Empire Earth, can ya nuke a Roman Soldier or run em over with a tank? Or does the time line stay fairly accurate for everyone?
And RA2 YR with the Deezire pack is great. Especially the Jurassic Map. Get to shoot lots of Dinos.

I agree, the nano age stuff isnt that fun, so we just set ending age to Atomic Modern and its fun as hell, and yes a roman soldier can get nuked, but its most likely to happen against a hardcore newbie than anything

well, i have never played EE, but i would love it, i love AOE 1 & 2, all the way to Emperor, but untill i see it, my favourite Real Time Based Strategy is still C&C Red Alert, the graphics were bad, options were low, but the gameplay was phenominal, i've never had so much fun wth 1 game then playing C&C RA on LAN agains 3 friends, the game went for hours, it was easy ot get multiple bases, hard to destroy a base once solidly built.
Most of you will laugh at me for choosing such an old game, but it was a classic in my opinion.

EE is a good game, but very demanding on video though. It's the same as AOE, except that it inludes a few more erea's, and the graphics are a little better, but very demanding on the card thouch:(

It is funny though when playing against a newbie. They're in the Bronze age and you come around with an Atomic Bomb. Or infect their civ with malaria or something like that or my favorite Get a Prophet to "grow" a volcano in the middle of their city and watch it burn in molten lava.:) :) :) :)

I've seen plenty of Strategy games better than Empire Earth, some of the best ones were made in the PCs infancy. Balance of Power and Hidden Agenda comes to mind (Though HA has political leanings)

aah yes good ol EE I live very close to sierra and have buddies that work there and I was privy to this game months before it came out in the market!!!
we will spend long wet washington weather playing and is great to play WW1-WW2 eras commanding generals around
like a bridge to far or something!!!
thing bout AOE is that it is a micro$haft copy of other good companys work (warcraft)()Command & Conquer )but have to agree that when it came out I couln't think of how anyone could improve on it.
EE zoom thing is kinda gimmiky yet when you have to single out something to tap on and there is a whole lot of stuff arround it it does help!!!!
