I HAVE A GIGABYTE 6BX7+ MOTHERBOARD AND A P3 866. THERE ARE DIP SWITCHES ON IT FOR 3X TO 8X BUT NO AFFECT WHICH EVER SETTING I PUT IT ON. IF I CHANGE MY FRONT SIDE BUS TO 142MHZ FROM 133MHZ I GET IT RUNNING AT 933 BUT VERY UNSTABLE. I WAS WONDERING IF ANY BODY KNEW HOW TO ENABLE THE MULTIPLYER SWICTH SO THAT I CAN KEEP IT RUNNING AT 133MHZ. CHEERS.

The Pentium 3 processors are multiplier locked and CAN NOT be changed no matter what you do.

The only way to overclock am Intel processor is by increasing the FSB and the Vcore voltage.

If your mottherboard does not allow you to increase the VCore voltage to the processor, then you are out of luck and can not overclock.

MY MOTHERBOARD HAS GOT A VOLTAGE SELECTOR FROM 10% TO 50%. WHAT NOW?

Increase the voltage in small steps ! By the way, sometimes the processor is not guilty when the system is unstable, verify if you memory sticks can handle higher FSB or if the guilty guy isn't your video card.
To give you an example, my PIII600E is running at 900(150x6)totally rock solid at nominal voltage(1.7volts).
I'm using Micron memory sticks rated to 160 Mhz and my video card is an old Voodoo 3/3000 AGP, overclocked too!

Good luck :D

I put the fsb up to 152mhz and the voltage up 20% to 2.01V and a winbond 128mb stick and it all works fine at 1000mhz.
Just one more question, Is 56 degrees to hot for the P3. Cheers again m8.:D

i think it is very hot,
I have a p3 733 @ 951 and it is always at 40 to 43 degrees, your CPU might live a short life.
