There is a new virus WOBBLER. It will arrive on
email titled
>CALIFORNIA.

Anyone else get this warning..?

This new virus found in the wilds of San Franscisco and West Hollywood will delete any references on your hard disk to the following:

1. Second Ammendment Rights

2. Republicans

3. Christian Religious Institutions and Practices

Also the following message or a varient appears at shutdown, "It is entirely subjective whether or not you turn your computer off now"

Keep your eyes open for the BAD_DRIVER aka SLODRIVER virus as well. It's another variant of the CALIFORNIA virus. Usually wrapped in with the BLACKSOCKS BEACHGOER trojan. Not malicious, but very annoying.

It's running rampantly wild out here... and there are other variants, as well. Most often found on NOFS (Non-Operating Freeway System).

Don't forget the TRFFC_CP virus...when executed on an infected machine it will detect if your PC is overclocked and promptly write you out a ticket for speeding in a no parking zone and cause your printer to spit out numerous documents on current traffic laws. It will then put into your registry an entry in the Run category called "Speedbump" which will slow loading time and underclock the machine to what it thinks is an acceptable level (somewhere around 50mhz).. It is also an annoying variant of the BckSeatDrvr virus that may or may not come wrapped in the Pssnger trojan.. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
