I have an Iomega ZipCD drive I'm having problems with. I just upgraded my system to an Athlon Thunderbird/900 with 128MB RAM and a Tyan motherboard. This is my problem: I'll just be sitting here doing something that doesn't involve the CD ROM drive, and all of a sudden it'll fire up and start whirring, and if there's anything in it it'll start up. Even if there's nothing in the drive, it'll just fire up and start whirring and the system will freeze up for a second, then kick back in again. It does this every few minutes. If I try to play an audio CD in it, it'll play for a minute or two, then freeze. If I'm trying to install something from the drive, it'll be going fine, then it'll kick off, and then not even recognize that there's a disk in the drive. (Actually, this happens rather frequently. It just won't recognize there's a disk there, even when there is.) I downloaded and installed the latest drivers from Iomega and Tyan. Ever seen this before? Thanks! SysOpt.com
