I have a 24x BTC cdrom drive that has this problem, however other disks work fine in it. These disks that don't work in my drive work fine in other machines. What could be the problem?

JaYsin compuwiz1 11-04-2000, 04:13 PM Yep, lots of older drive wont read cdrs. Even some of the newer ones wont read cdrws. TechJumper 11-04-2000, 06:20 PM My dad was trying to play my MP3's on an older CD drive and it simply wouldn't work, time to upgrade http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif try buy.com, or pic on up in "PC Steals and Deals" forum. BTW- for future reference, this should be in "Technical Support." It confuses me and other people trying to help when it is out of place. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Best of luck, Michael TechJumper NDC 11-04-2000, 06:59 PM Download Adaptec UDF Reader. This may solve your problem. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif Note: if you are using Win2K and you are having this problem, it would be useless to install UDF Reader, because Win2K already has this util on the OS by default. But if you are using Win95 or Win98 or NT4, this is definetly worth a try. It will solve the problem for most CDROM Drives. Download from here: http://www-pc.uni-regensburg.de/hardware/STORAGE/ADAPTEC/udf_reader.htm [This message has been edited by NDC (edited 11-04-2000).] doctj 11-05-2000, 04:16 AM thanks guys I think I'll just upgrade. Any recommendations on a good dvd drive that will read all cdr's cdrw's etc? SysOpt.com
