Audible clicks in mp3 ripped from cd

Tried to rip mp3's from cd and got music full of audible clicks.
Whatz the cause & the solution?

I had that happen when I first got into this thing. My cause was mechanical. The CD player had some misaligned bearings or gears and the noise and interference they caused was enough to influence my ripped songs. When I put a new CD-ROM in, the problem went away and have not had it since. Hope this helps, but it may not be the same problem you have.

EDIT - I just read your other post and I think when you put these two together, you have a pretty strong cause and effect relationship. Time for a new CD-ROM.

Hi waferdog! Both CD drives are different(Samsung 32x w/ misalignment & Mitsumi CD-R w/ audible clicks)
Can these clicks be removed by some software?

Nag,

Well, you could go by some sound editing software and then spend the time going through each ripped tune manually removing each click. But you'll have to pay for the software and spend the hours going through each song. Your only real option is a new player.

actually, if you have an amplifier made for lp's sometimes they have some "filter" switches, frequently these will take noise out.
