Just up graded from Win95 to 98. When I try to set up "Dialup Networking ("make a new connection") the system says "no modem found"! I am using a US Robotics 56K External modem.
I have checked the modem thru the contron panel both "Modem" and "System Properties" / "Device Manager". Everything looks ok there. I am able to get the modem to work with AOL with no problems. Someone suggested I do a Soft Start on Win98 and remove the modem including anything having to do with modems like "wave device for voice modem". After that, I am to reboot and let Win98 find the hardware. I haven't had a chance to try this yet but in the meantime does anyone else have any thoughts on this problem? Thanks for your help.
