Starband, will it be any good?

I can't get cable or DSL where I live and it will probably be a while before it does get here. So I'm wondering about Starband that Sysopt mentioned in the news. It sounds like it might be a good solution, but I do a lot of online gaming and just wonder if it would really be good for that. Anybody been in the pilot program, or know more about it? I'm also wondering what effect weather has on performance? I mean if it's overcast will data be lost? From what I've read it is due to be available in November sometime. Any info would be appreciated.
