The Adaptec software causes the IE not to enable the automatic disconnect when I close IE. I have to manually disconnect the connection. I use ATT worldnet. If I do not start the Adaptec software on boot or close them before logging on the the ISP I get the automatic disconnect when I log off. Does anyone know how to defeat the "cancel automatic logoff" while the Adaptec software runs in the background? It's not really a big deal but seem to be annoying to me.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks

I don't know how to solve your problem, but one thing I can tell you is that I've had too many strange problems using IE 5.5 with Adaptec Easy CD Creator! Perhaps some of you had better luck with IE 5.5 and Easy CD Creator, but that wasn't the case for me.

Not only is IE 5.5 sluggish compared to IE 5, IE 5.5 gave me too many problems with Easy CD Creator.

My suggestion is to just stick with IE5.

Do what I did:

Get rid of Easy CD and use Nero 5 instead. Not onlu better to configure, more things to tweak with (If You like it) possibility to overburn... and so on.

I still can live with the (very) occasional hang-up's of IE 5.5 (with W2K), but I need the print prewiev.
Oh, don't try to give me Netscape.. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Only thing that's stopping me from trying Nero is that they don't have a program similar to Adaptec Doirect CD, which is very convenient having. I hear from many people that Direct CD will have conflicts when using with Nero Burning ROM. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

I had the same problem, so I used msconfig to eleminate the adaptec programs from loading during startup. The drive seems to be work fine.
