Dos error message?????

i am trying to reformat my hard drive but get a Dos error message. <Invalid media or track 0 bad - disk unusable. format terminated> can someone explain this message to me in plain english?

Have you tried FDISK? sounds like you may have to repartion and then format.
"Be carefull you WILL lose all data" on every partion if there is more than one.
wouldn't hurt to fdisk the mbr while your at it, just type: fdisk/mbr and hit enter.
