Should I manully set my IRQ's or move my cards into different PCI slots ??? I am trying to get my digital video card to have its own IRQ ... I am running Asus A7M266 mobo win 98SE ...current config as follows :

AGP gforce 3
pci 1 empty
pci 2 dxr3 decoder card for dvd player
pci 3 sound blaster card 5.1 digital thingy
pci 4 pinnacle DV200 board for digital video
pci 5 modem

any other config suggestions greatly appreciated currently dv200 is on irq 9 with about 5 other things which is apprently bad for this board ... i am using usb and com ports so cant disable them in bios

You say you have multiple cards sharing same IRQ ... it means you have ACPI enabled in BIOS (to allow IRQ sharing). It's not a bad thing and should work fine, unless you believe your DV card will work better with it's own IRQ.
To re-assign IRQs, disable ACPI in BIOS (or disable PnP OS option, if I remember correctly for your mobo). This will disable IRQ sharing, and you'll be able to "control" IRQ assigning by moving the cards within the slots.

Best Regards ...
